"Avatar: The Way of Water" hits theaters on December 16. Fans have had to wait thirteen years for it, but their patience is doubly rewarded. Sources have told 'The Hollywood Reporter' that the print lasts no less than three hours.

Thirteen years after the blue creatures of Pandora in 'Avatar' managed to conquer just about the entire world, they are back again. The long-awaited sequel to this blockbuster is on the way. The first 'Avatar' film could count on about 162 minutes (or 2 hours and 42 minutes), but the sequel is certainly not inferior. On the contrary. Sources have told 'The Hollywood Reporter' that 'Avatar: The Way of Water' is a whopping 3 hours and 10 minutes. Director James Cameron told Empire Magazine that he doesn't want to hear anyone complain about the film's length. “When it comes to television series, people often watch one episode after another. Sometimes up to five hours. It's okay to get up and go to the toilet."

It was already known that 'Avatar: The Way of Water' is far from the end of the saga. For example, there are three more sequels planned, which are planned for 2024, 2026 and 2028. Whether Cameron will also take care of these films remains a question mark for the time being.
